Responsibilities:
Living room is where people spend their leisure time at home. However, due to the limited space in Asia, most of the houses are small and some people find it hard to relax. The Hidden Art creates a cosy corner for people to rest. It functions as a dining table when it is in use. Otherwise, it is a piece of art hanging on the wall. The lamp is also a must have: it can be used as both a track lighting and a wall lamp, depending on the using status. The design details make The Hidden Art not just a simple furniture, but a delicate decoration.

How it functions
As a multi-directional lamp, it could also function as a fixer to fasten the table on the wall. A easy step could turn a dining table into a piece of art!
Scaled Prototype
The 1:6 scaled table is made of maple wood. The wood has to be cut precisely for each part-tabletop, frame and spindle. Also, the surface of each part has to be ground to make the whole piece sophisticated. The completion of the table necessitates attentiveness on every detail.
Final Model
The lamp is made of aluminum with matte metallic paint. The shape of lamp base is designed for its purpose. In order to fix the table on the wall, the shape of lamp base has to follow that of the table top, when it is folded. Pulling down the lamp base, the polished effect highlights the whole design. To prevent any component show on the wall, the table spindle is also a ingenious detail.
It was planned to use plastic in the first place, yet it came out with no metallic effect and the shine could not appear. After trial and error, the final model presents aesthetically and functionally.
