Responsibilities:

Nomad is a jumpsuit designed for travelers. Beyond a normal outfit, it releases the stress of your neck and back at anytime, anywhere. Moreover, it not only eases the uncomfortableness caused by inappropriate sitting postures while commuting but also prepares you to the best condition while traveling.

Problem finding

Travelers spend a great amount of time on commuting, and they need to stay seated on airplanes, trains, and buses for most of the time. However, such small spaces could cause inappropriate posture while resting, leading to significant stress to our spine. Based on the pain point, the puffy collar of Nomad is designed to alleviate the stress caused by improper sitting posture, bringing users better experiences while traveling.

Research

A study from spinal surgeon Kenneth Hansraj shows that bending over our head can cause significant stress on our spine, which could theoretically cause damage that would eventually require surgeries. The graphic shows how many pounds of pressure are put on our spine as we bend our head forward.

design process

Nomad is made with fine wool. The dark tone of wool not only keeps travelers warm but made Nomad a high quality piece. The cotton puffy collar brings users the best user experiences, the tactility feels like your pillows at home. The vivid orange tone also  highlighted the whole piece of garment. To bring the best user experience, the size of puffy collar has been tested back and forth.

design details

The puffy collar has tow positions : it release the stress of your neck when it is put up; it releases your back stress when it is put down. The copper buckles not only fix the puffy collar to different positions, but also add some details to the piece of garment. To correspond with the puffy collar, the puffy pocket made another detail to this travel suit.
